This was first grown by Rev. Samuel Porter in 1800 in Sherburne, Mass. This apple is of fine dessert quality. It has large fruit with smooth, thin skin, bright yellow with a faint red blush. The flesh is yellow, crisp, tender and juicy. It is agreeably aromatic, sprightly and is very good for wither eating or culinary uses.
